Discovery Guides

Details

Discovery Guides volunteer once a week at the museum in two hour shifts and are helpful in many ways. They work on the floor of the museum helping to keep exhibits neat and tidy, putting items away. They also help us with programs like Messy Monday and Toddler Tuesdays. From set up to clean up, Discovery Guides help our visitors get involved in projects and activities. Some Discovery Guides help with our Puppet Program, putting on puppet shows once a week for our young visitors.

We begin the Summer season with a Discovery Guide Training. At the training we discuss their role at the museum, take a tour of the museum to point out specific jobs, schedule their shift for the summer and end with a pizza lunch from our wonderful sponsor, Hungry Howie's.

We end the Summer season in late August with another Pizza Party, this one to thank our wonderful Discovery Guides for all their hard work.
