Underwater ROV Workshop

Date: June 16, 2025

Description

One day class with engineer Perry Lyford Stojic and STEM Coordinator for Ludington Elementary, Scott Andersen. Participants will build an underwater remotely operated vehicle using PVC parts and small motors. After building it they can try it out in a large tub of water.

Drone Workshop

Date: July 10, 2025

Times: Ages 8-12 from 10am - 12pm


Description

One-day free workshop with teacher Scott Andersen. Participants will learn to program and fly a Mini Mamba Drone and learn about drone safety.

Grossology Summer Science Camp
A Hands-On Journey Through the Gross and Amazing Human Body!

Date: June 19th, 2025

Times: FULL Ages 5 - 7 from 10am - 12pm

Ages 8 - 10 from 1pm to 3pm

Description

Get ready for a summer of slime, goo, and lots of "ewws" and "ahhhs" at Grossology — the science camp where gross is great! Designed especially for curious elementary students, Grossology takes kids on an exciting, hands-on adventure through the human body. Campers will dive into the wonders of our body’s most fascinating (and sometimes icky!) systems. Through fun experiments, messy crafts, interactive games, and wacky challenges, kids will learn about organs, senses, blood, bones, and more in a way that's unforgettable — and totally fun! Campers will leave Grossology with a deeper understanding of how their bodies work — and a new appreciation for all things gross and awesome!

STEM Builders Summer Camp
For Elementary Students

Get ready to design, build, and explore! In our STEM Builders Summer Camp, young engineers will dive into hands-on activities that challenge their creativity and problem-solving skills. Campers will work individually and in teams to construct soaring towers, sturdy bridges, and imaginative structures using a variety of materials. It will feature exciting building challenges and friendly competitions that encourage critical thinking, teamwork, and innovation. Whether it's designing the tallest tower or the strongest bridge, students will learn fundamental STEM concepts while having tons of fun. Perfect for curious minds who love to build, invent, and dream big!

EcoColor Lab: Natural Dyes and Tie Dye Tee-shirts

Date: August 8th, 2025

Times: 10:00am-12:00pm and 2:00pm-4:00pm

Description

Get ready to dye with nature! In this colorful hands-on program, kids will explore the science and art of natural dyes using surprising ingredients like red cabbage, onion peels, turmeric, and more! 🌿🥬🧅

Young artists will learn how to transform an ordinary white t-shirt into a wearable masterpiece using eco-friendly techniques and kitchen scrap magic. It’s part science experiment, part art project, and 100% tee-rific fun!

Location: On the deck (basement party room if raining)

Science is Magic

Date: August 15th, 2025

Times: 11:00am-12:00pm

Step into a world where science and wonder collide! At Science is Magical, young scientists will experience mind-blowing demonstrations that look like pure magic — but are powered by real scientific principles. From color-changing potions to floating objects, each “magic trick” reveals the hidden forces of chemistry, physics, and biology. Participants will not only witness the impossible — they'll learn how to make it happen themselves! Get ready to unlock the secrets behind the magic and discover just how incredible science can be.

STEAM ADVENTURES June 24th-August 12th: STEAM Adventures are funded by MSU Extension and Mason-Lake-Oceana Great Start Collaborative. The program intertwines STEAM and literacy to spark curiosity, Creativity, critical thinking, an innovation. Such explorations help to prepare children to navigate an increasingly complex world with confidence and proficiency. The program is tailored to children ages 4 to 9, but children outside this age range are welcome.

Wiggle, giggle, and grow! In this playful yoga class, children will explore movement, balance, and mindfulness through fun poses, stories, and songs. Designed for kids between 5 and 9 years old, this class helps build strength, focus, and confidence—all while having a blast!

Water Safety Class

Join us for a fun and informative water safety class led by our Director, a Red Cross Water Safety Ambassador! Kids and families will learn important tips for staying safe around pools, lakes, and beaches.
